newbie

Hi I am returning to bicycling after being away for awhile. I have around a 1980 Peugeot road bike right now. I am looking at buying a brand new bike in a couple of months. I was wondering about the Cannondale Caad9 6. I like the fact that it's all Shimano Tiagra, and it doesn't cost too much. I'm looking at spending around $1500. I was also wondering if anybody has used a Shimano Capreo setup on a regular (700C) road bike. Will it fit? I ride a lot would it wear out quicker than a regular cassette. I already run out of gearing on my Peugeot (52/13), so I want taller gearing with about a 1.5/1 ratio for first gear any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you are running out of gearing then you should be doing about 45MPH on a flat slope.... that is pretty good!

welcome to BF!

Hi laguary9, let's see some photos of the Peugeot before you toss it to the wayside, ok?
