Hi All!
I just came accross this site and it has already proven to be invaluable with information and advice.
I'm a recreational rider, former college Div. 1 water polo player/swimmer, who is riding to stay in shape and possibly compete in triathalons for fun! It has to be for fun when you are 38 years old. I would view myself as a fairly competitve person, so while I ride for fun and recreation, I am extremely competitive with myself and want to improve!
I am currently riding an entry level Scott CR1 carbon that I found on sale at my LBS. I have gone a little crazy over the last couple of weeks upgrading my components. I now have all DA components with the exception of an Ultegra drivetrain.
I live at the beach, so most of my rides are over flat or rolling terrain. I have access to canyons and hills, but I want to be really comfortable in the saddle before tackling those rides. My rides are typically anywhere from 25 to 40 miles. I really enjoy riding along Pacific Coast Highway!
I'm excited by becoming a member of this site and am looking forward to gaining valuable insight and experience. My long term goal is to do most of the maintenance and work on my bike and to become the best rider that I can possibly manage.
Best Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike, those are commendable goals! What part of the PCH are you riding? Don't forget to check into the regional forums, the SoCal forum in particular is very active!
