Hello from Connecticut Commuter

In July 2006 I bought a Gary Fisher Tiburon expecting that I would ride on weekends for exercise. I started riding distances between 10 and 24 miles. Then, after reading some blogs, it dawned on me that I could combine my exercise time with getting to and from work. Now, my commute is a minimum of 30 miles roundtrip, depending on the route I take. So in April of 2007 I started commuting by bike to work. I averages twice a week and racked up 2000 miles between commuting and weekend riding. So, for 2008, I purchased an OCR-1 road bike to make the commute a bit easier. This is my second week of the year commuting so far. I am hoping once it warms up some to attempt to average 3-commutes a week.

I travel from Norwalk to the Greenwich/Port Chester border.

I would love to hear from other Connecticut commuters!

That's great to hear...

I'm 16 or 17 miles from work-- West Haven to Bridgeport. I'm motivated to try cycle commuting a few days per week, but really haven't worked out the extra time in my schedule. Thanks for adding a little inspiration.
