hello, i just joined up here to get more inof on trail riding and suggestuions on gear and such. im gonna be getting a new bike this week, and my g/f is looking to get something in the next week or two. here is the bike i m looking at. its a 07 diamond back coil EX full suspension bike. seems the front forks arent all that great, but i dont think ill be riding it hard enough to be breaking stuff.

i also have a 96 Dyno VFR, chrome with red decals, wire spokes, GT hubs and crank. i used to ride this thing every where it has logged many many miles but i havent rode it in quite some time. its a 18" i belive. ill get a pic later.

Hi Dom, I just saw the new Diamondbacks yesterday, at the Seattle Bike Expo (Raleigh's headquarters are located here in Kent, WA). They looked pretty nice!

Welcome to BF!

well reviews on the bike arent too bad, but it seems people here hate the bike. i know its on the way cheap side of the full suspension bike but like i said i dont ride real hard and dont go off the beaten path much more than what youd see along side a forest preserve. guess ill keep my options open for now and a bit more reading.

the thign i see is im going from a $80 magna with a broken derailer and street tires and no suspension thats about 15 years old and i beat the piss out off and havent had a problem yet. which is what leads me to belive id be hard pressed to break a DB

I would not be concerned too much about what others say--if you really get into MTB you would upgrade. But for what you're doing, it's perfectly acceptable. All I care about is whether or not people get out and ride :D .
