Jufimbo From New Orleans
Hello, forums. I live in New Orleans, have for nigh on 6 years. Originally from rural North-central Missouri / Kansas City. I rode bmx in my teens, nothing too serious or competitive. Just rode. Quit smoking about a year ago, bought a department store bike and started commuting. Bike fell apart, was generously given a Trek 930 Singletrack from a fantastic co-worker in exchange for a coffee table. Recently sold that and bought a beautiful 55 cm 2008 Bianchi San Jose. I've put about 100+ miles on it since buying it a week ago and think about it ALL THE TIME. I wouldn't say that I live a car free lifestyle, but I don't own one. I really enjoy everything about the cycling aspects of my life. I feel like a pilgrim or maybe some sort of ninja when I'm on that bike. There is a simplicity about the whole affair that is satisfying. I enjoy the aesthetics of cycling. The simple accoutrements and the tactile sensations induce an almost religious experience. It is more like going to some sort of church than commuting. I'm a Clyde, I reckon. Barely. I don't race but that could change. I am fairly solo when it comes to cycling. But I am interested in the community of cyclists and learning more about this deal what gives me so much exultant joy.

Hi Jufimbo, cycling is addictive, isn't it? But it's a healthy addiction! I'm glad to see you quit smoking, it's a lot harder to go up hills without the additional oxygen .
