I'm glad I found this forum. Two years ago I was driving 70 miles a day to my job, but a tumor in one of my tonsils changed my life in many ways. Now I work in town and ride my bike or take the bus to work. After my radiation treatments and returning to work, the bike ride was the best part of my day. I commute on a road bike. In fact I've owned road bikes since the fourth grade. I still struggle a bit going up hill. But those downhills are so sweet. This weekend I rode twenty miles so I feel like I'm back on track.

Hi GSC, yes, we like to enjoy ourselves here, and welcome others to join us. Did the radiation get rid of the tumour completely?

I actually had surgery and radiation. I have check-ups every three months with no trace of cancer. It's been ten months since my last treatment. My tumor was discovered during a physical, so my advice to everyone is to make sure that your doctor inspects your mouth during your check-up.

I have a Trek 5200 and an 64 cm. Centurion, which is my commuter bike.

Good for you! A lot of us know all too well from personal experience how frightening it can be to have something like that found.
