I'm Eric from Roscoe Village

Hi all. I'm Eric and live in Chicago. I started commuting to the Loop for work last year. Finally came out of hibernation last week to start again. I don't miss a day. My route to work is Leavitt>Clybourn>Halsted>Lake and home is Wacker>Orleans>Division>Clybourn>Leavitt. I used to live in St. Louis and did some mountain biking, but was never all that serious about it. That said, I have and use all my old mtn bike gear (shoes, pedals, etc.) I currently ride a 1999-ish Voodoo Hoodoo mountain bike. With slicks I can actually scoot pretty good. This is my wife's old bike; mine got stolen. That said, I would like to buy a new bike soon. Can't decide what to buy and will search these forums in the hopes of deciding. I'm really attracted to the fixie/singlespeeds but can't decide if that b/c they're trendy or if I genuinely like them.

Have a good day everyone.

Hi Eric, I have yet to ride a SS/FG, but that's because I am afraid of the hills around here . You should be good, though.

Hurrah, spring is here and we can get back to riding!

Welcome to BF!
