Howdy from Hiram GA
Hey guys and girls, I'm a new member to forum from the sprawling metropolis of HIRAM, Georgia. It's about 15 or 20 miles west of Atlanta. I'm riding an old Raleigh Technium right now, I got really interested in "building" a SS road bike and I found the forum through Google. Great site!!!

The silver comet trail is about 5 minutes from my front door! That's the main reason I want a single speed bike. Do you ride the trail?

I ride the Comet often. I live in Lithia Springs so the trail is right up the road from me and I park at the Florence Road lot. I ride through Hiram usually to the Rambo Trailhead or further depending on how much time I have. Welcome to the forums.

I take my daughtewr there infrequently to pull her in her chariot. Only once a month or so however since I am on the other side of the jungle. I also start at Florence and usually ride to Rockmart and back.

What am I missing at the Florence Road parking area??
I live in Decatur and drive up to the SC trail a few times a year. I usually park at Floyd Road.

Lots of SCT users! Lately I've been parking at Carter Rd and riding to the start (or end) of the trail at Malvo Rd. Sometimes I'll park in Hiram and ride to Malvo Rd. I have ridden from Hiram to Rockmart a few times, it's really pretty out that way. Maybe I should start to park at Florence Rd too :>)

I also like starting at Florence. Good facilities with water and a highly visible parking lot that makes me feel more secure leaving my vehicle.
The user traffic is not as crowded out past this point either.

Welcome to the forum. And, yes, I'm very familiar with the big city of Hiram. I grew up there, though it was long ago. Your bio didn't state your age, but if you are as old as me, you'll remember back when Rocky Jordan was the only cop in town, and he drove a 65 Ford pickup as the police cruiser.
Hope to see you on the Comet. I get back up there occasionally to ride. I'm hoping to go next weekend even.
