Yup- I'm a new member from the south suburbs (Apple Valley) in MN. I've been commuting to work (11 miles round trip) using an '05 Giant Cypress DX. I usually use my motorcycles (and the cage for winter) but I decided to get in a little better shape and use pedal power. This is a nice forum.

Not exactly dug out yet- supposed to get near 6" of snow tonight/tomorrow. I'm off work so I really don't care. It's the icy bridge decks/underpasses that still scare the heck out of me on the ride to work.

Argh!

Yes, the snow itself isn't bad, but I've gone down at least once on a nice bit of ice myself, even here in Washington State. Take care!

Hello from a former Twin Citian. See you in the commuter forum. You'll get all kinds of info in all these forums. Tread carefully though if you go in P & R!

Although I'm somewhat new to bicycle commuting, I try and ride the motorsickles year round. Love the looks from snowplow drivers when I scoot past on the motorbike.

Hi Road_Rascal

Welcome to the forum.

Are you riding in the Minnesota Ironman Bike Ride, https://ironmanbikeride.org/. It is April 27 in Lakeville.

Last year the weather was great! This year we will most likely have snow!!!

If I can get my endurance up a bit I may try something like that. Right now I'm making an effort to commute to work as much as possible and use the bike trailer (gee, thanks wife, hauling the dog around in a kid's trailer makes me look really manly) for getting groceries.
