thanks for reply
hello East Hil,in answer to your question i am from Cork.I ride a Giant crs 3.0.After reading some of the posts hybrids are not thought of highly by most people.I am thinking did i make a mistake by buying a hybrid.I know i have not rode a bike in a long time,so hopefully i will enjoy the bike.Thank you for the reply.

A lot of people buy hybrids because they are like you--they haven't ridden in a long time, and aren't sure how they will feel after so many years off the bike. Then, when they get back into riding, they realise that the good old road bike still fits their style.
So, don't worry too much, just think of it as your backup bike for those long cold winters after you get the road bike .
(I asked about Dublin because you mentioned Stephen Roche...)

I think your right East Hill.Gear changes are so much smother, than i remember on my old bike.Brakes are better, lighter frame, better wheels and thats on a 400 euro price hybrid.Just got clipless pedals, all i need now is for the rain to stop!

Bright sunshine here, but the temp was -10C (14F) this morning when I went out for my first ride of the year. You might find bar ends will be a good addition to your hybrid to give an alternate hand position.
