Hey All
Hi I'm new to the forum and want to say hi. I'm from Regina Saskatchewan Canada up 5.5 hours north from Minot N.D. I'm seriously considering getting into cyclocross after a hiatus from biking. Currently have an old Kona Explosif. It is either time to replace some worn parts or think about a new bike. The forward position and the speed of cyclocross interests me. I'll have alot of new bike questions since I'm looking once again.
A return to cycling would definitely help out my cardio as I'd like to shed a few pounds. I hope to see you more in the forums. Super6 |
Always nice to see another Canuck !
I too have an old Kona Explosif (mine is an '88) and is in the process of being rebuilt. I can't help much with the cyclocross except that for many, if they could only have one bike a c-cross would be it even if they do not plan on racing. The guys in the cross forum should be able to offer enormous amounts of help and riding cyclo-cross will really beat you into shape. Have fun ! |
Hi Super6, I see that Sixty Fiver has already given you a nice friendly welcome :D . I'll just add my own,

Thanks one and all. I can't tell you what year my Explosif is other than it is grey. Red race face cranks. Maybe '02? Right now I am excited to be back into the scene because every thing is new to me. There is some really cool stuff in the shops like disc brakes, better shifters, and even the high end saddles are more comfortable.
Kid in the candy store time! |
What components are on it? We can make an educated guess for you if you give us components and a photo.
Disc brakes are brilliant :D . East Hill |
