Hello from Casa Grande, AZ

Hey everybody I'm brand new to the forum, I just got back into bikes recently, I'm 26 and gained about 15-20 pounds after getting my first grown up job. Now I sit at a desk all day and it's killing me (litterally, I just found out I have high blood pressure and high cholestoral, and I'm a small guy, not overweight or anything.) I'm married witha kid on the way so needless to say I'm poor, I bought a Diamondback Viper X to try to get out, excercise and lose a little weight. That was the bike I had when I was a kid and never had problems with it and it was under $200 bucks brand new so it's perfect for me.

Hi Koobers, real life is miserable when you figure out that part of it includes sitting and working at a desk for a living :( .

But bikes make it much better!!!

With your goals, the Diamondback should be just fine to start, although if you are like the rest of us, you will start yearning for a lighter, faster bike :) .

Welcome to BF!

Welcome there sir - may you enjoy the health benefits of getting back on that two wheeled instrument of fun and fun and pain and ...

Seriously - do get back in the saddle - it's good to know where you stand on how your body is doing - meaning your blood, heart, etc - and it's good to know that you have some awesome ways (ahem, shameless plug for bicycling) to combat them.

:D
