I'm a college student from Orange County, CA. I've been lurking this forum for about a year or two, and now that I'm about to bite the bullet and order a (backordered) Mercier Kilo TT from bikesdirect, I finally decided to join. I used to ride my friend's converted vintage Peugeot until it got stolen a year ago and I'm sick of not having my own to ride on days when the weather is perfect for a bike ride (which, now that it's spring, is often). Why did I wait so long to get a new bike? Because I'm 5'0" tall, and small (tiny?) frames are hard to come by on a student's budget in the midst of the increasing popularity of fixed gears around here. Maybe you guys have heard of a certain guy by the name of Dustin trying to cash in? Ha. But I figure I've been attracted to this bike for a while so I might as well, right?
