Hello from Dover!!!
Hello All,
My name is Matt and I am currently stationed in Dover. I have been Interested to get into road cycling for the past few years. I was introduced to the world while catching a commercial between scenes from a nascar race that highlighted the Tour De France a few years ago. With the recent high in Gas prices and my Supercharged mustang gt sucking down premium, I have decided to take the plunge. I guess "Car-Lite" Is where I will be heading. I dont have a bike yet and I have a very shallow budget. Im full of questions so Im sure I will talk with alot of you. I look foward to all the advice and knowledge I will gain from these forums.

Hello Matt, hey, that's a good way to get interested in cycling (by watching the TdF), and it is a good way to save money on petrol, for sure.

oh.. pretty shallow, Im looking for an entry level bike something that I can use for transportation and some distance riding. Ive been looking at the dawes lighting. Everything I need to get started for a good price. I would love to up the budget but its not feasible at my pay grade. $400 is the magic number for now. later down the road I would love to get me a nice bike, but I cant afford it now.
Thanks,
Matt
Thanks,
Matt

The Dawes should be good for a starter bike...I take it that you have looked through the local Craigs List and not found anything suitable?
