Getting into the world of commuting
Well with gas prices getting stupidly high, I decided it to be a good time to drop the car in favor of something cheaper.
I used to do a bit of roadcycling like 2-3 years ago, sold all my stuff when I moved (I still cry) now I'm mostly into commuting.
I live in texas with my wife and our brat of a dog, in the army national guard.
Think thats bout it
I'm jonathon

Hi Jonathon! So, do you have a bike currently, or are you still looking? Whereabouts in TX are you? Check out the regional forums--there's a sub-forum there just for Texans!

Currently Irving texas (635/macarthur area)
I commute on an old '74-'75 Schwinn varsity 10speed right now in the market for something a bit lighter and newer, the old Schwinn is ready to be loved and restored to a shine that I just cannot do right now

Ah, a Varsity! Yes, beautiful old bikes, but they do weigh a ton!
I have to say, I love my steel bikes:
This is a 1977 Sachs--I'm not sure of the weight, but it's under 22 pounds. A lovely, responsive bicycle which continues to amaze me!
