But, as bac says, there are all sorts of forums for various types of cycling. So...what did you have in mind? Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) ! East Hill http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...a/pinkstar.jpg |

Posting in the roadie forum has indicated to me that I need a cyclocross bike.
Also, I got 2008 product guides from a bike store on the following brands: Norco, Mountain Bike, DeVinci, and Specialized. So now I have a two-part question: 1) are there any other brands I should talk into consideration? The MB and Specialized product books have been very informative and I assume they are great brands, are there any others though? 2) From the above brands and any addiotnal brands you would recommend, any cyclocross bikes you recommend? Or basically any bike that is a perfect blend of paved commuting and rding on the trails/dirt roads; forests; big hills and small mountains (Southern Ontario hills aren't exactly the Rockies!) Anyone who offers any advice, much appreciated in advance. |
Other brands which may be (fairly) easily found are Bianchi, Cannondale, Jamis, Kona, and Lemond. There are quite a few other manufacturers, but some are custom makers, etc.
The Kona Jake the Snake seems to be quite a favourite, though. The Lemond Poprad gets high marks as well. East Hill |

When I was looking for a cyclocross bike for commuting last year, I was impressed by the Brodie Ronin. I didnt want the disc brakes, but the dealer could probably chage them for cantilevers if you dont want discs.
