Back in the saddle......

Hi there!! I figured after lurking for a bit and reading reams of great stuff I figured that I would stop in and say thanks to all for all the great info that has been posted on this board.

I'm getting back into cycling after a pretty long break. I have not even really looked at a bike in over 15 yrs, but I still know a great ride when I see it. I'm pretty lucky in that I've been able to collect some pretty fine bikes over the past two . First there is the bike that I've literally had my eye on for 6 yrs. That would be my best friends pristine 2001 Brodie Spark. After letting it sit for 2 yrs I was finally able to pry it out of his hands last season. For the most part it has been set up with slicks as 95% of where I ride is on the road, or bike trail. This had me wishing more and more for another road bike just like the old days. Then in the past week I was able to get a mint 2005 Trek 2200 (minus one problem...see want ads/bike tech). Both bikes are in cherry condition, and have a fire lit in me like no tomorrow. I'm going for my first real ride on the Trek tomorrow, and I can't wait to see what it has to offer. The last decent road bike that I was on was a 1988 Bianchi Primo (oversize frame, low end grouppo)! So you could just imagine how giddy I am with the upgrade in my new road ride!

I look forward to posting here, and who knows maybe even hooking up a ride.

AJ

Hi AJ, glad to hear that the spark has been fanned back to life. It doesn't take much, does it? Have you any photos to share with us?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Cool AJ - I was out for about 9 years myself... it's very exciting to get going again.
