Willing to learn!

I like all bikes. My ride time is a bit limited due to a heavy workload, but stress relief is the bike. I have a few nice bikes, but find myself spending most my time on a cyclocross bike riding both paved roads and forest service roads. This bike is a Surley Crosscheck, Ultegra triple up front with an XT back end. I just really enjoy the bike. I live in the high country of Arizona - 7000 ft, the White Mountain area. It is a great area to ride. Very good LBS - Cyclomania, Todd is the owner.

My next move is the touring world. This just seems like a great thing to do! I would plan to start out with my crosscheck, but need the racks and panniers. I backpack a bit, so I have all the other toys, overall though I would have a lot to learn.

If you get to come through NE Arizona, please let me know if I can pass on some local info! Very good mtn, great roads.

Hello LLL, I would have a hard time riding there, being as I am used to being close to sea level :) . You will enjoy the touring, and you have a great start with the Crosscheck, too.

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

Sounds like lovely terrain to ride in! If I had a quarter for every place I want to visit with my bike, I'd be a millionaire by now. You just added another one!
