I drive a clunky (by today's standards) old Nishiki back and forth to work.

I have several of them myself! A Pro, an International, a Sport mixte, a Prestige...

Goalnub - Welcome to BF... there are a few folks from Alberta's second best city here so you should feel right at home.

Thanks for the welcome....yeah I love my Nishiki....I had just spent the weekend watching my brother compete in a triathalon and had a wee bit of bike envy going on from watching all the hi tech (high price) bikes going by.....but I'm all better now

You don't need bike envy, it just tends to make you think that you need a new (expensive) bike.
