What bike should I buy?

Hi everyone,
I am just getting started and i was wondering if some people could help make a decision on what bike I should buy. I am looking at a 2008 Giant Rincon or 2008 Scott Aspect 55. I have rode both bike and both feel very comfortable. Please make any suggestion on which bike i should buy or if you know of and other bikes that good bikes to buy for around $500. Thank you

Ask in the section that covers the type of riding you want to do - Mountain bikes, Commuting, or Recreational. Its better for a newbie to find a good bike shop that will give helpful advice and good support rather than any particular brand of bike. Good luck.

Hi HG29, normally we tell people--whichever one fits best! Not to be smart, but because a bike which fits properly is one that you will enjoy riding. Once you establish that the bike fits, then it becomes a question of the intended use. Commuting? Trail riding only?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

If you read thru the various forums here, you see that your question has been asked and answered 10 zillion times.
As Andrew and EH said, get a bike that fits from a shop you feel comfortable dealing with. Those are the two most important things to know about biking. Brand isn't that important.
