Hello from Tally
The combination of increasing circumference around my midsection, questions about my own carbon footprint, and gas prices led me to take up commuting to work in lovely Tallahassee. No better time to start than when the temperatures hover in the nineties and the afternoon rains roll through! A rarely-used Gary Fisher Marlin now does duty as a commuter on my 14 mile round trip. I've overcome some of my fear of idiot drivers, but remain on alert as I pass through neighborhoods that may not be featured in Chamber of Commerce brochures.
This forum has already been of great assistance for motivation and insight (fenders!). I look forward to lurking and learning.

Hello biggaloot, that Marlin should be able to glide quietly and efficiently through the non CoC neighbourhoods. That's a big plus, right there. Besides, you could think of those neighbourhoods as a good place to practice wind sprints .
