I am Pete. I have been getting back into cycling for the last year plus. Last year I bought an old trek 520 from a guy I work with. It's a nice bike and suits my purpose, mostly commuting, but, it really didn't fit me right (a bit small). Then, this spring, another guy from work who is about my size informed me that he wanted a new fancy CF trek to replace his not vrey old trek 1200.

Asking price on the 1200 was 450.

Well, Darren now has his fancy CF trek and I have doubled my trek stable. Hoping to get the wife or daughter interested in riding the 520. No luck so far, but, my 10 year old son grows about 6 inches a week and will probably be able to ride it within a year or two.

I had bikes as a kid and about 20 years ago while I was in Norfolk, Va in the navy, I had an Azuki. It was setup for touring and rode like a cadillac. I loved that thing.

Been away from biking for the better part of 2 decades now and plan on staying with it for the duration.

95% of my riding is the 25 mile round trip commute to work. I hope to get more non commuting riding in this year and would like to join others for group rides. I would like to get a century in before the season is over.

Hi Pete, it sounds as if you are on your way to a larger stable. Do you have photos to share?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !
