The return of the geezer
Hi back in pre history (the 80's) I was one of those cleated guys on a super skinny race bike doing
track stands at stoplights and riding 15,000 mi plus per year. Am a past pres of our local bike club and chaired the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic in 1985..Moved to the country.. The road shoulders out here are skinny, covered with junk and used by sensory impaired drivers as just that much extra road space. Only other riding area is HWY 2..(sigh)..However decided to start riding again so broke out the Shogun Prairie Breaker III (I know you never heard of it, but it was THE cool bike 25 years ago)....Took off the 2 1/2" knobby tires and put on some slicks... Found out that my "Bumblebee suit" still fits...So if you see a old geezer in a yellow helmet on a white 80's style mountain bike riding down Hwy 2 between Monroe and Index,,,give me a wave..... jim "I am not old,,, am just birthday advantaged " in Gold Bar |
Hi Jim, I don't think we've had any members in Gold Bar before...plenty of other members up and around the area, though.
Come and check in with the PNW forum. I live in Kent, by the way. Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) ! East Hill Forum Moderator http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...a/pinkstar.jpg |
