royal oak, MI.

i am brand new to cycling in just about every respect.

a friend convinced me to do a triathlon on june 1, and i rode a late 90s trek 820 with front suspension on it. as brutal as that was, i enjoyed the cycling enough to go out and buy a 1997 giant kronos GS. it's my first proper road bike. i've been using it for cross training days as i train for the detroit marathon, but i'll use it more next spring for tri training and ride for a workout more often.

i also bought my wife a 1977 schwinn varsity, so we like to get out as much as possible and use the car less.

Hi robb, it sounds as if you had a great experience in your triathlon if you decided to keep doing it.

(ummm...do you have photos of your wife's Varsity?)

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

i should take some photos of it. it's a beautiful metallic green, and i've already put pink tape on the grips. i think it weighs about 50 pounds, but she loves it.

robb.

Built like a tank, and virtually indestructible. It sounds lovely with the pink tape, and photos would be greatly appreciated!
