Another new Clydesdale here

Hi all, I'm Jerry and I'm from Southern Illinois. I was directed to this forum by other members of Zombie Squad. I'm 38 and in need of getting back into riding. I'm looking at LBS, mostly in Carbondale, and about to make a decision on either a Raleigh Passage 5.0 or a Trek SU.

My goals are to get back into riding shape and start doing longer trail/path rides in the spring of 2009. My first one is going to be the Tunnel Hill ride! Then its off to state parks for camping and riding. And of course to hit St Louis's greath paths.

Yep, the frames on the ones in the $400-$500 range all seem to be made by the same couple of overseas companies. Then its the same price range parts like brakes and gears and seats.

I can live with the 4.0, but I like disc brakes.

Riding a bike should help relieve some of the stress from your job.
Have fun.
