Hi, I'm Chris. I'm in New York, and new to bikes.
Hello,
I'm doing research. I'm looking to buy my first bike since childhood.
My first two bikes were Huffy, a banana-seat bike and then a dirt bike. Then I had a 10-speed that I think was a Schwinn. Last I owned one I was about 16. I also rode a bicycle everywhere for a few months I spent in Key West in the mid-90s. I was a guest. It was a simple cheap bike with a rack and a big-wide-fat-springy seat, like a grandparent might ride! That is the entire extent of my bicycle knowledge and experience. Needless to say, I know little about bikes, bike culture, or anything of the sort. But I did enjoy riding a bike as a kid, and I hope to enjoy it again.
I'm going to post a thread, inquiring about advice on purchasing a bike.
But I figure the proper protocol is to introduce myself here in the "Introductions" forum first.
I live in New York and I'm looking to get a bike both for commuting to work, and for exercise.
I hope this forum will be a place I can return to for good advice as I head into this, my new venture in urban bicycle riding.
