Hiyas from HI and CA

I recently moved to the bay in CA, although still like to spend time out in HI where I was recently.

In the last few years I have been climbing to be in the kind of bike shape I was in during my teen years where a 20mi ride happened often and easily and fast pace.

I picked up an older trek road bike a few years ago and had fun on ebay building it up with newer sora components and found that I really want something with 105 or better after having ridden that and tried some better bikes.

I am now in the position where I have a beater mtn bike and soon hope to get a decent road bike. I am debating whether to get a new bike, a used one I know is good, yielding either better price or components or maybe have fun with a full bike build and start with a frame and go from there.

Excited as me and my wife just sold our car and will be using bikes as our main trans for now. We just scored her a new 54cm Felt z70.

Hi Joshua, if we could get you to visit the Classic & Vintage forum, you might get hooked on those old steel frames, but it's up to you! Great to hear that you have sold the car, and that both you and your wife are doing the car free thing.

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Heh, well I may end up with some vintage stuff in the future. At this point I am getting one of those 'plastic' bikes, have a carbon fiber fuji on order.

Well, Fuji is a classic name...so all you need to do is get one in a steel frame, and you'll be good to go .
