Hi, I am pretty new to biking. Charlotte has a good system of trails. My wife and I have path bikes and enjoy riding, especially taking our grandchildren with child seats, a trailer and a tag-a-long. I would like to do a century in April, so I have purchased a stationary bike and I am looking at road bikes. I will ride the century with my son-in-law. BIG challenge for me! I have a long way to go to get in shape for this. Am looking forward to learned from all who post on this forum.

Welcome to Bike Forums macmac! You came to the right place. There are plenty of threads on riding centuries and choosing bikes. April is plenty of time to get ready for that ride with the proper training, diet etc... Have fun Joe. Don't forget to check out Foo in the lounge area when you are bored.

Hi macmac, it sounds as if you will be in shape for the century next April if you currently haul around the grandkids! The question may be better asked--will your son-in-law be in shape for the century?
