Hello All
Hello,
I am from western Pennsylvania. I have been a Type 1 diabetic for 10 years, and use a minimed 722 pump. I started riding again after seeing my doctor in July. I have a 12-14 year old Specialized Mtn bike that I was riding. It needs some work. Last weekend I bought a Cannondale CAA9 Triple 6 road bike. I have put about 40 miles on it. It is a fast ride. The road bike shows how much out of shape I am in. I rode my mountain bike around in high gear a lot, and my road bike I have 3 or 4 more gears. It gives me something to work up to. I alternate days of riding with jogging. I will have to jog when the snow flies. I ride mostly for exercise. I am looking at a couple of local races, and charity rides. I rode 28 miles on my mtn bike last week. I can't wait till Saturday to do a longer ride on my road bike. If anyone else is a diabetic and wants to swap tips and ideas let me know. Thanks

Hi tfg111, check into the 50+ forum for tips and ideas for diabetics. There are a lot of diabetics on the board, but the 50+ folks are the most likely to respond .
