I'm from San Diego and started commuting on my bike to work about a month ago. I actually ride to the Train station (4miles) take the train about 10 miles and ride to work, (2miles) & reverse it home. I live in a pretty urban area (University Heights) so I've always ridden my mountain bike for errands and shopping. After a couple of weeks of commuting I decided I wanted a road bike so, I use a Fuji Newest with Gatorskins exclusively now for the ride. I love riding and taking the train, I do not miss the commute traffic, waiting for traffic lights, getting cut off at all. Now it's car doors mostly, but I will trade them any day. I found the forum when I was looking for a messenger bag. (I got a Chrome Metropolis) There is so much useful info here it's amazing!
