Hi everyone

Hi people. I'm obviously new to the forum. I don't really ride too terribly much but when i do i love it. I have an older Trek 4400 that i bought on ebay. I put it away for a few years and finally got it out again and am trying to just find out more than i already know about it. So i'm gonna thank everybody now for any kind of help you can give me in the future

Hello emwalt, how old is your Trek? If it's more than 15 or 20 years old, we can probably give you a hand with it in the Classic & Vintage forum.

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

I honestly have no idea but i really doubt it is that old. Is there a serial number or something like a vin on a car that will give me the year?

You can probably find a serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket, or you can look up the date codes on the components.

Actually, if you tell us what components are on the bike we can make an educated guess as to the approximate year.

I looked at the codes on the bottom bracket but i have no idea what they mean. There were two numbers the first was BI-0415 and the second was C7002603. Oh and i was mistaken it is a Trek 4300

Ah, a Trek 4300 is a relatively new machine...my husband has a Trek 4300, and loves it!

I would guess that it is probably no more than ten years old, at best.
