HI from Quebec
Hi folks,
I read threads on this forum for few weeks, so i decided to join the community! :D I ride much younger but stopped in the last years. So i decided to built up a new bike just for ridding in town for fun. My old Mercier Special tour de France road bike. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...et/mercier.jpg And my new project, my Peugeot '82 singlespeed converted. Not yet finished, i need a new crank. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...t/P8160480.jpg I like Fench bike  So that's it. :) |
Hello Datsun det, is the Mercier back in one piece? The Peugeot looks splendid!
My only French bicycle is a Motobecane Grand Jubile mixte. It's a splendid ride, and I feel most majestic riding along on it :D . Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) ! East Hill Forum Moderator http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...a/pinkstar.jpg |

I don't know why, but it's the only picture that i have of it!? For the Peugeot, I saved it from a LBS, in a huge pile of junk bikes. It was painted black and was all dirty, but I found that the frame and the fork were chromed under the paint. Motobecane are great bike! But I never had the chance to find one here in Montreal. :( |
Someone painted the Peugeot black?
How horrible! It looks much better as a chrome bike :D . East Hill |
Even though i'm also a fresh Newbie to BF , i HAVE to welcome a fellow Montrealer:). BTW , is it possible that i saw you riding the Peugeot in Montreal's old port lately?
|
He Thank you,
To be honest, I live in the suburbs of Montreal,so I don't think it was me. I ride a bit in Mtl but more in the old Montreal (Peel and Notre-Dame). But if you see a 6'3" big guys on a chromed peugeot, it's probably me! |
Bienvenue, tous les deux. I love French bikes, too. I used to have a Vitus 979, but when I had a bad crash, the rear dropout simply broke off. I had it up in my workshop to admire or a while, but now it's gone.
Nice bikes! Nice city, Montreal. |
Merci beaucoup! :D
This is bad for you Vitus :( Montreal and Quebec in general, are a great area for cycling. We have many bike compagny here, like Guru, Devinci, Marinoni, Louis Garneau... |
Somewhere in Quebec is the home of my favorite bike accessory company--Arkel. They make the best bags, along with Ortlieb.
