From NY
Hello.
I just starting biking again in May after about an 18 year layoff (basically, since teenage years). I've always enjoyed outdoors, primarily hiking. I live in upstate NY. 33.
My bike (not very exciting, but hey, I'm on a budget):
Raleigh C-30 (hybrid), 700-35 wheels. Recently installed clipless pedals, but haven't yet tried (waiting for shoes).
Planetbike cyclocomputer (10% of sales go to bike advocacy!).
Average riding (once it gets warmer) 12-15 miles weekdays, 25-40 weekends. Average mph 13-14. (but flat cruising about 16). Enjoy bikepaths and country roads. Not crazy about city biking, but I manage.
Goal next year for bike is possible upgrade on front derailler. Stock Shimanos are just passable.
Anybody in Albany who fits above profile for speed, locations and distance, is happy to join me.

Welcome to the forums Wiswell.
You sound like you're where I was eight months ago. I got a Trek hybrid last August. I haden't ridden in 25 years. I soon had to have a road bike so I got one in November. I got this one: https://www.ibexbikes.com/Bikes/2003/...CorridaLT.html
It gets into your blood. I average between 75 to 100 miles a week.
Again, welcome
