Another New Guy

Hi all,

I'm in Boise Idaho and just recently (about a month and a half ago) started commuting to work daily on my bike. It's nothing special, just a heavy Jamis mountain bike that I threw a rack on and a couple of panniers. I also have an old Raleigh Skyline with a rear derailleur I managed to snap in two.

My wife and I want to get into touring with our kids, but our bikes still need some tweaking. We road to her parents' farm yesterday (57 miles) without the kids and found a couple comfort issues we'll want to address.

Anyway, I thought I'd introduce myself and say hi!

Hello TG, where is your in-law's farm? Boise always looks like a nice place to ride, although I've never gotten on the bike when I've visited.

Their farm is a few miles due east of Nyssa Oregon, but still in Idaho. Not a bad ride there except for the last 5 miles or so. Then it gets really hilly.

Are you in the Magic Valley area?

I think we have another member out in the Nyssa area...
