Hello from Indiana
Crawfordsville, actually. Been on a bike since I could walk, but during college fell away from it a bit. First bike was a Rallye BMX that went EVERYWHERE with me. It had a cable-driven speedo/odometer on it that broke at 3,000 miles, and I rode it for years after that. Cracked the top tube, welded it back together, replaced the wheels repeatedly, etc. It's still in the garage somewhere...
After that, I had a succession of bikes, including a road bike that I now wish I had. Anyway, after college, I've decided to get back into riding daily. I'm a teacher at one of the local schools (about a 10 mile commute), so its' going to be tough going on my current bikes (a 70's Free Spirit willed to me by my grandfather and a new POS MTB from X-Mart), but I'm on the hunt for an older road bike that I would be able to get cheaply and fix to my liking. This is my second year here at this school, and it doesn't seem like it'd be that bad of a ride...
Naturally though, with no biking came little exercise, and it shows...so I'll also be using this as an opportunity to lose some weight as well. argh. So anyway, like I said, I'm on the hunt for a road bike, then I'll probably load it up with some panniers and/or a trunk and use it for most of my in-town needs.

I live in Southern Indiana. Keep an eye on Craigslist, there are some pretty good deals to be had.
I just bought my first bike in years today!

Hi mickey85, you can still find some good deals on Craigslist . Just make sure you know your size, and don't be afraid of vintage steel.
