Vintage Lotus Challenger Bike

I have an early 1980's Lotus Challenger Bike that has been sitting in the garage for years. I don't ride anymore and would like to sell it. I see that there are Lotus fans out there. I just don't know how to find them. Does any one know of any good advertising venues?

Too bad you want to sell it rather than restore it.

Try https://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.

Are you sure you would not rather restore it? Perhaps you could post photos of the Lotus in the C & V forum?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Vintage Lotus Challenger Bike

Thanks East Hill. Sadly, I do not ride any more. I had it tuned up and put it on Ebay. I was surprised to find that there's a fair number of Lotus fans out there! Who knew?

Why don't you ride anymore? Please don't say it's because you're too old. I'm 63 and am always looking for "the next bike" to add to my small stable. I'll stop riding shortly after the nail the lid on my coffin.

LOL, Ron! I guess it's because I used to ride w/my kids and they grew up on me. I'm guessing you have quite a collection - how many and what types?

Click on bicycles in my signature (below) to see my bikes.

Now, back to why you don't ride. All my kids are long gone and grown up so I ride by myself or with whoever I come across when I'm out riding.

You want to get rid of that absolutely gorgeous Lotus mixte?

Well, you are the owner, but a lot of the C & V folks would tell you that you are crazy for not wanting to get a tune up and get out and ride that beauty.

Very impressive bikes, Ron. Excellent tatoos, too. Other than commuting and running errands, what else do you and your bike get into (events, clubs etc.,)?

Yes, East Hill, maybe I am crazy for selling it. I have to admit that I still am a little attached to it. It does have sentimental value - I used to ride it along w/my children and an old boyfriend bought it for me nearly 30 yrs. ago. I know - AWWW, right? I clicked on 'my blog' under your last post and was reading about the Cinderella Classic. Very cool. How does one find out about events as such?

I'm out riding on my days off and weekends. On the days I work (half days), I ride in the morning (around 9:00) before going to work. I usually ride 25-30 miles. I'm considering a few metric centuries that are coming up in the next month or so. Not ready for a century since I had knee surgery in April and varicose vein surgery in June/July.

Generally speaking, the regional forums will have a heads up about the local organised rides. I love organised rides, because it's a great opportunity to put faces to names and personalities.

I have met several BF members at rides in the past, and with my new work hours, it's fairly easy for me to get out and ride on Sundays.

Definitely check into the regional forums. You could be pleasantly surprised!
