Wow, I think you are the first member I have seen from Fort Bragg. A very nice town, although a bit swamped with tourists and Skunk Train riders .

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

There are other ways to get to and from Ft. Bragg then by bike and train. Your MTA runs a small bus down to Santa Rosa in the AM and back in the evening. It has a bike rack and will usually drop you off where-ever in Santa Rosa you need to go. At the transit mall in downtown SR you can catch Golden Gate transit buses into San Francisco, SF International, and the rest of the World. Those buses also carry one (or two) bikes. Try contacting the Santa Rosa Cycling Club or the Sonoma County Bicycling Coalition to see if someone will put you up over night so you can ride with people down here.
