PA middle aged rider w/o the spare tire

Greetings roadies and others. I have been riding since 1980 with a few years off for grad school. I live outside Philly and ride the sylvan paths in the suburbs. I statred riding in college in and progressed to riding as a member of the Penn State racing team. I took time off whil studyin in Michigan. After school I returned to the roads and raced as a Cat 4 for threee years. I ride now 2-3 times a week with a club and have been doing a race or two in the last several years. Spinning in the gym in the winter keeps me sane and looking forward to riding outside. Ive found that while my strength may be waning, Ive got the stamina and endurance of younger riders. Riding can keep you fit and sane as you age.
