Hello There

New to the site. Just began my cycling addiction last year, can't think of life with out my bike now. Training real hard this winter to get those extra pounds off to make the hills smaller. Looking to buy another bike in spring od 09 so hopefully that will work out. Managed 4000k this summer with two solo centuries one with a group.Father of two young boys 10 and 5 married to a lovely wife for going on 14 years.

Hi youcoming, what's the bike you currently have? And what are you looking to get down the road? Have you convinced the family that cycling is a really good thing for healthy living, not to mention improving the health of one's pocketbook?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Currently I'm riding an OPUS Andante an aluminum carbon mis from Quebec. Next is likely a Trek 5.5 Madone. Lots of bikes in this price range and yes everyone else is saying get this get that but in my mind the trek is very good bang for the buck and the LBS I deal with has service like no other. They also carry Pinarello, Parllee, neither of which I can afford, Cannondale, Litespeed, Fuji and Opus. I just like the Trek and what you get for the money.

How about getting the family into the addiction. The 5 yr old should be ripe for a tag-along, then he could help you up the hills. These are not happy times in Oshawa - do the auto industry troubles affect you?

Not very good times in Oshawa at all. Luckally I'm not affected other than lower property value and the ridiculous criime. Next year I plan on getting a tag along for the little guy and a road bike for my then 11 year old.
