Hello from East Tennessee! :)

Hi there,

NBCsurvivor here. I am more of a prepper than a bike enthusiast, but recognize the need for such a thing. I am very novice and hope that any questions I may have may not sound too lame.

Willing to trade knowledge for knowledge.

Need your Post Apocalyptic survival shelter fine tuned or started, let me know what you need info on? I'll probably need help in the nomenclature regarding all aspects of bikes in return.

Need to know what to do in the event of a chemical or biological attack in your area of operations? I'll probably need help figuring out what gel seat is best.

Need to know what kind of firearm is best suited for travel on a bike? Well, we could probably help one another out.

Anyway, here I am...this is me and I cannot pretend to be someone that I am not. I do not know much about bikes and I hope all the fine people here that I have been trolling after in regards to knowledge can help me. I hope perhaps I can help you to in some respects.

Love and rockets,

NBC

Hi NBC! So, do you actually have a bike yet, or are you still in the process of figuring out what you want/need?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Hi East Hill,

Yes, I do have a bike. It's not much, but I guess this is going to be my 'beater' for a little while and project bike to learn the ropes. It is a Mongoose XR-100. I got this from CraigsList for 25.00 and I threw the guy an extra 10.00 for meeting me half way for delivery. She needs some work (rust around screws and such), but I think she will be a gem once I learn what I am doing and mod her a bit.

Here is a review from epinions.....

and here she is from the yard (she is presently wrapped quietly under a tarp on the patio)....

Hey Tom Stormcrowe,

I know quite a few people here either from IN, or that have family there. There, and OH. Go figure.

You should move back. ORNL started making weapons grade Plutonium/Uranium again within the past few years so I am sure that the Russians and Chinese have re-calibrated their ICBMs' to 'compensate' for the upgrade.

Really though, the place has grown up alot (not sure when you moved away). They are screwing with I-40 for the next 16 months and screwing up traffic in Knoxville. Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg continue to sprout hotels and malls. The roads have widened there quite a bit just within the past two years to accommodate the influx of traffic.

Nice to hear from you and thank you for the welcome!

I thought all those towns had plenty of hotels and malls when I was last there several years ago. I can't imagine how much traffic there must be now .
