Hello!
Hello,
My name is Kevin. I live in mountains of Western North Carolina. I am Attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. We have the most unique mascot, we are the fighting pickles. UNCSA is a fine arts conservatory school in which I am studying to be a lighting technician. Not quite a lighting designer, but the next person in the production chain. If you are interested into what exactly this islet me know and I will type some more about it.
I got back interested in cycling when one of my greatest friends and teachers took me along for a 10 mile ride around a lake near my home town. Even though I left that ride scrapped and bruised. I was hooked. Since then, I have owned a couple bikes. the most notable being a Trek Singletrack 930, which was given to me by the same teacher friend. I love that bike it is a green that fades into purple, but it's not tacky.
One of my goals for 2009 is to ride my bike at least twice a week and get at least 2,500 miles on it.
In the next couple of years i am going to be saving up to buy a new mountain bike, most likely a hard-tail. I'm looking for suggestions.
Thanks and if you have any questions, just ask.
Kevin

Welcome to Bike Forums Kevin. Hey, I could use your lighting expertise when I need to install pot-lights in my kitchen. I have no idea where best to place them to give the best impact. I thought doing some research on the net or buying a book on lighting would make me an expert. I was wrong
Check out the Mountain Biking Forum for bike recommendations. I currently have a 2005 Trek 6700 hardtail MB. It's a great bike! I use it as a commuter and on single tracks in our area.

I'm at least 3 months away from starting on the kitchen renovations. When I do, I'll post the drawings of my proposed layout. No point in coming up with a lighting plan until I figure out the final layout of cupboards. However when I do, I'd appreciate the feedback. My wife is hoping for ceiling potlights, above and below cupboard lighting and of course some lighting internal to some of the cupboards. Way above my skill level.
