Hello from nuovo_record

hi all
well after 2 or 3 years out, ill health and being too damn busy, i'm aiming to get back onto the road.
i'm from the flatlands of east anglia, england so no hills )
well my rides?
just rescued a ally framed mtb (with front disc) from a skip to be my hack bike...but

i have a holdsworth "holdsworth nuovo record" frame, with campag record hubs, omega rims, campy indexed D/T levers, mirage chainset and BB....campag seat stem, ambrosio bars and cinelli stem....
according to norman the holdsworth anorak it's "quite a rare frame" anyone else got one?

and i've also just rescued what is beleived to be a holdworth super mistral frame (i will have to remove the laters of paint to confirm) but it has a chromed rear tirangle and chrome forks, with the wrap over seatstays.
it comes with cinelli bars and stem, and campag headset too and cyclone rear mech
couple this to the spare "gran sport" chainset it could be quite nice if it hopefully what it is

there is someone on this forum who collects holdsworth frame numbers?

J

Hello and welcome to the forums.

I'd suggest the Classic/Vintage forum for the bike questions- photos always help.

Indeed! We have a few other members in the UK, and viscount in particular might have some knowledge about your Holdsworths.

thanks for the welcome..

firstly spoke to the person who bought the mystery frame in 1978 and he confirms that it's a super mistral, although the forks are replcements at about that time.

and my NR there are a couple in america with very close frame numbers......but mine seems to be the only one woth "nuovo record" i nitalics on the top tube.
what a small world it is

i've heard from "chewa" (a name i remember from the c+ forum) and "skipmagnusson" from bikeforum

Perhaps you could put up some photos in C & V? Not only do we enjoy looking at them, but it's possible to help someone down the line answer his/her questions.

i have taken some pictures of the super mistral. my intention was (and still is) to put them into C & V and do the same for my Holdsworth Nuovo Reocrd too.
maybe this weekend will be the time, good light and rain prevailing....
have to admit the SMis a bit rough paintwork wise though - be prepare yourselves )

Hi, and welcome to the best bicycle forum, bar none.
Don't worry about posting roughish but interesting bikes.
All Holdsworths are interesting.
You want to see a really rough machine?
Check this one of mine in the Before and After thread.
