Hello from Coastal NC
Hi everyone! A little about me: I got an old Fuji Road bike last year to get me around on the quiet streets of the sailing town I live in. I instantly caught the biking bug and started tinkering with handlebars, tires, racks, etc. In the year I've been playing around with bikes I have had many questions about what will fit and work on my bike. I've seen that nearly all of the questions I've ever had have been answered online either here or at Sheldon Brown's site. I figured I might as well join in on the community since I'm on here frequenly. I really like classic road bikes. I wish I could understand the steel heirarchy better. I own 2 bikes that are relatively undesirable, but I love them. I'm trying to build an old Schwinn World frame into a comfortable beach touring bike for under $300. I'll be around!

Bikes: "Hildy", a Novara Randonee touring bike; a 16-speed Bike Friday Tikit; and a Specialized Stumpjumper frame-based built-up MTB, now serving as the kid-carrier, grocery-getter.

Welcome! Do you have pictures of the older bikes? I'd love to see them.

Ah, the Crystal Coast! What part to you live in? I was in Jacksonville/Top Sail for 6 years and I think about that place quite frequently. There are certain things about it I really miss.
