Another Newbie Heard From
Good morning. Raleighdon, aka Don Boothby, checking in from sunny Seattle, Washington. At 58 years old, I've been cycling most of my life, but "seriously" only since 1991 when I did my first 2-day STP and rode 2000 miles in a single year. In 2004 I got introduced to randonneuring, and have been a daily commute cyclist for the last couple of years. A love of travel, a love of the wind at my back, a love of the awesome feeling I get rolling in to work in the morning and feeling invigorated while listening to my coworkers ***** about their crappy commutes, a love of the camaraderie I get from cycling, a love of nature and beautiful scenery, a love of the great outdoors, and a love of continued good health all keep me cycling more and more.

Well howdy howdy! I"m "GlacierChaser" from BikeJournal, just so you know. Welcome to the forums here. The "Long Distance" forum is the randonneuring stuff specifically, but I normally peruse several different ones myself. Happy forum lurking. :)

Hi Don. Great story about why you love biking. I also commute to work ... when it's not below freezing. I love the morning ride into work, however the one after work is what I really look forward to. Great stress reliever after the work day.
