Howdy, from Georgia!

hello, all. my name's kara & i've just recently moved to tybee island, ga. i love it here and can't wait to ride around this lovely island. i'm strictly an exercise/recreational cyclist and will use it in place of my car anytime i'm able.
this forum has been quite helpful to me as i know almost nothing about bikes. so...i'm hoping to learn more through you guys! so...as Boards of Canada would say, "happy cycling!"
kara

Hi Kara and welcome to BF.
What bike(s) do you ride?

Stop by the Southeast Regional subforum and say hello to the locals.

Hi, Ron-

well, i just got a bike for the first time since the orangish-brown huffy sea trails 3spd i got for my 12th xmas!!! i loved that bike! perhaps it's technically a piece of crap...but the freedom it represented was dizzying, the seat was ultra-comfy and i thought it was smooth as silk!
regarding my second bike ever and the one i just bought yesterday...i was advised from someone on yahoo answers that i was ripped off a bit. i bought a fuji L700 and was advised that it was an SMU possibly made for REI or Performance Bikes around 2003-2004 and that it's only worth about $125 in perfect working order. well...i paid $150 for it and it needs a tune-up b/c the gears aren't shifting very smoothly. plus, it's a 19" male frame for a 5' 2" female body--but...the seats adjusted, i can touch down just fine and well...i have it now. so...long answer to a short question...but that's my bike. i plan to "girl" it up a bit w/a basket and bell *ding, ding!*

Welcome to BF's from another Georgian....although I'm in the ATL metro. Tybee is a wonderful place. I'm sure you will enjoy it there.
