New Rider from NY

Started riding this past summer after not riding for about 30 years, I am 54 years old. My friends got me interested in biking and in April 2008 I went out and bought my first bike a Bianchi Verona Hybrid. My friends were going on a bike tour in Westchester County called The Golden Apple 25,50,75, or 100 miles. I started training in April the Golden Apple was in Sept and I did the 25 miles with ease, except for a few of the hills. This summer I plan to upgrade to a road bike for the bike tours and use my hybrid for neighborhood riding. Any info on a road bike would be helpful because I'm still new at this.

Welcome Dega!

Whereabouts in NY are you?

For bike advice, you'd have to supply a little more info. Do you plan to go fast, do you want a race bike? Or are looking for something a little more touring/long distance oriented, something more sturdy?

I live in Glendale,Queens, N.Y. I'm looking for something to use on some bike tours, I noticed that I'm just about the only rider on a hybrid, it seems road bikes are the way to go I'm not looking for anything very expensive maybe just a little above an entry level bike.
