Hi and welcome to the forums!
There are a bunch of people all around the city here on the forums. Just earlier tonight a few of use got together for an impromptu ride around Manhattan. You should check out the "Northeast" portion of the "Regional" sub-forums for more info.
BTW, where in Brooklyn do you live?

Hey creakier. I'm also in Brooklyn. Welcome. I don't know how many miles you're up for, but a popular destination around these parts is Nyak, New York, via Manhattan -> GWB -> 9W, etc. Approx. 75 miles round trip. And a bit hillier than the city, but a great trip. Any decent weekend morning you'll find plenty of bikers making that trip.
