Hi! new guys here with long uphill battle ahead.

hello, my name is Joshua Griffith, I am a 27 year old married guy with a wonderful little girl. I joined this site to get some motivation for the struggle im about partake. I have let myself get up to 373 pounds and i have never been as angry at myself. A few years ago, i decided i wanted to lose some weight so i started a "starve yourself" diet. i actually managed to lose over 120 pounds i was slim and life sucked cause i was eating a horrible diet. Then along came life in the form of my wife and shortly thereafter my daughter. Well through working alot and being a dad i have gained back almost every single pound that i lost. what motivated me to get back on my bike is when recently i stepped on a scale and the numbers 373 slapped me in the face. So guys wish me luck and i will be updating you very often on my progress.

Josh-
You've made a great start! You're getting on the bike and you're here at this forum: endless resource of people. I do wish you luck and look froward to hearing how things are going for you on this new journey: the good, the bad, the ugly With this new start you've made, I recommend journaling or blogging this "trip" you're about to take. WELCOME!

Josh,
Welcome. You are not alone. Stop by the "Clydesdales / Athenas" board and introduce yourself. You'll find a great bunch of non-judgemental folks who "have been there, done that" and understand.
Again Welcome.

I have a 2008 raleigh venture 4.0 it has double wall wheels, Shimano EF-50 EZ Fire trigger shifters (which I love), and Kenda tires which i am about to get replaced with road tires.

Good luck! While it's not the same magnitude, I had to drop from 243, so I have an inkling of what it's like. Keep us posted!
