My name is Dillon and my main purpose on bikeforums.net is to do some research about a bike for college next year at Texas A&M.

Get a MTB. Durable for banging up and down curbs etc. You might wait until you get there and try to find a used bike or check CL for College Station. Contact the TAMU cycling club and see if they have a for sale forum, etc.
