Intro...just getting back in the saddle

Hi all. i used to ride quite a bit in my earlier days and got serious about mountain while living in western colorado. spend the majority (too much) of my time in the city of brotherly love. Picked up a road bike 2 years ago and have am starting to get seriosu about riding. of course living in the heart of the city provides me with some pitfalls that i am going to research how others avoid -traffic, potholes, crime etc. have started researching new bikes, local clubs and shops. am going to need help to get going more effectively and this looks like a good place to start...have read a few stickies and FAQ's and will try to search out the answers to questions that i know are fairly common...any help is appreciated

Check out bcp (Bicycle Club of Philly), They'll have some group rides that you can join in on that will show you the best places to ride. You can also talk to them about your city riding questions.

Have you checked out the Schuylkill River Trail yet? If you're looking for a bike trail, ride up to the Art Museum and then head out. You can take it all the way to Valley Forge Park and beyond, just do some research on how to navigate the Manayunk part.
